Ross began his professional career teaching mathematics at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.

In 2000, he left teaching to pursue a career in video production and worked on various projects, including a series for Channel 4 and two documentaries for Discovery.

From 2003 to 2008 he worked as a media producer overseeing the development of multimedia teaching and learning resources for a large government-funded project.

A key role was overseeing the creation of the video content that would populate each resource. This involved filming classroom activities, educational events and interviewing teachers, trainers, learners and educational consultants. Through this work he gained a great deal of experience as a video editor, camera operator and director.

It was this experience in producing video content for teaching resources that was the catalyst for setting up as a freelance video editor and videographer with a focus on teaching and learning.

He has gone on to create videos for projects including the Centres for Excellence in Mathematics (Education and Training Foundation), Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (MEI), ICCAMs Maths (Education Endowment Foundation), Lessons for Mathematical Problem-solving Project (The University of Nottingham), Bowland Maths (Bowland Charitable Trust), Mathematics Assessment Project (Shell Centre for Mathematical Education), Formative Assessment in Science and Mathematics Education (University of Newcastle).

Ross is based in the south west of England.
