Ross began his professional career teaching mathematics at GCSE and A-level.

In 2000, he left teaching to pursue a career in video editing and worked on various projects, including a series for Channel 4 and two documentaries for Discovery.

From 2003 to 2008 he worked as a media producer overseeing the development of multimedia teaching and learning resources for a large government-funded project.

A key role was overseeing the creation of the video content that would populate each resource. This involved filming classroom activities, educational events and interviews with teachers, trainers, learners and educational consultants. Through this work he gained a great deal of experience as a video editor, camera operator and director.

It was the experience in producing video content for the education sector that was the catalyst for setting up as a freelance video editor and videographer with a focus on teaching and learning.

Subsequently he has worked on various projects including the Centres for Excellence in Maths, Advanced Mathematics Support Programme, Maths for Life, ICCAMs Maths, Citizenship, Bowland Maths and Supporting Business Innovation.

He has worked with research teams, consultants and representatives for various organisations, including the Education and Training Foundation, MEI, Shell Centre for Mathematical Education, University of Nottingham and University of Cambridge.

Ross is based in the south west of England.
