Project Description

IMPROVING TEACHING AND LEARNING IN SCIENCE

This project forms part of the National Teaching and Learning Change Programme, which was set up by the Standards Unit in 2003. Its purpose was to embed excellence in teaching, training and learning in the post-16 learning and skills sector.

The programme focussed on improving teaching and learning across various subject areas through the development of multimedia resources.

My role was to produce multimedia resources for science. This included producing a DVD, “Looking at Science: Talking, listening and thinking for deeper Science understanding”.

Here is the opening chapter for that video, Abstract Ideas in Science. It features teachers and learners involved in programme, and Professor Robin Millar from the Department for Education, University of York.
